Under 20% of Black and Latino children entering third grade In most inner cities, can read at grade level —The other 80% never catch up

And the Cycle Continues....

TO BREAK THE ILLITERACY (AND CRIME) CYCLE, IT IS CRITICAL TO PREPARE OUR CHILDREN TO READ–AND SUCCEED.

THE LATEST STUDY BY HARVARD PROFESSOR JAMES KIM FOUND THAT THE ENTIRE THIRD GRADE READING GAP (BY RACE AND INCOME) WAS PRESENT BY KINDERGARTEN.

The key to Succeed is to Teach your child—before Pre-school and kindergarten– the Four simple, FUN Steps of The 1234! Home Reading Helper.

We are bringing this very effective-- and FREE--program that was developed and proven in Charlotte to underserved communities across the nation.

The Four Steps are

 Step 1

Teach your child the ABCs.

Sing the ABC song to your child.

Ideally, at bedtime

Ask questions about what you see on each page of the book—even if you have trouble reading yourself.

For California residents

We will assist parents to access their $500 College Scholarship Account under Cal-KIDS for all California children from birth through high school who qualify. Those College Scholarship Accounts were created last fall, but most parents are not aware of, and do not know how to access, their child’s new $500 CSA ****account that is in their child’s own name now--and watch it grow.
